Frequently Asked Questions:
ROCKR PRO
Why does my trainer look offset to the left on top of the ROCKR PRO?
Easy, because every single smart trainer on the market is in fact offset to the left! Why? Most smart trainers use heavy leftset flywheels or electronic bundles to help create their realistic resistance, so their footprints are leftset too.
Should I consider using a Counterweight on my ROCKR PRO?
Not necessarily. In fact, many of our users don’t use them. However, if you’re using a trainer with a heavy leftset flywheel and you’re looking to get more even pressure in the Suspension Balls a counterweight will definitely help. For instance, a Wahoo KICKR has a 12 lb leftset flywheel. The only way to effectively balance this weight is to add a counterweight.
Should I worry about sweating all over my ROCKR PRO?
Nope, sweat away. Our birchwood ply boards are water resistant and we’ve essentially gone through the process of press-forming a trainer mat on them for you!
I’ve been having pain in my knees, but only when riding indoors. Will a ROCKR PRO help?
Yes! An indoor trainer without a ROCKR is 100% static and takes away our body’s natural ability to recruit and engage our stability muscles. These muscles may be small, but they are largely responsible for proper form, biomechanics, and efficient training. Adding the ROCKR movement brings back the biomechanics the body is used to having outside.
How much pressure should I put in the ROCKR PRO Suspension Balls?
Most of our customers find 2-4 psi to be the sweet spot. If you’re noticing that the Suspension Balls have wrinkles due to not enough air pressure - then they’re probably perfect! Too much air pressure can cause the Suspension Balls to bounce the bike back and forth, and can keep the bike from moving like it would when we ride outside.
Why did an extra Suspension Ball come with my ROCKR PRO? Should I be worried that they will pop?
It is extremely unlikely you’ll ever have any issues, but to ensure your confidence we give you an extra. Our Suspension Balls use an extra thick and durable rubber, which means you’ll most likely be using that extra as a dog toy.
Do I need a Trainer Mat underneath my ROCKR PRO?
Nope. We’ve already gone through the process of press-forming one on the top & bottom of our boards for you! That’s one of the signature features of our ROCKR PRO!
How long has ROCKR Indoor Training been building rocking indoor trainer platforms?
We’ve been building rocking trainer platforms since 2017. In fact, we were the first U.S. company to take this type of product to market, and have been the pioneers ever since.
I’ve seen articles where your name is SBR ROCKR, and not ROCKR Indoor Training. What’s up with that?
In the beginning of 2019 we re-branded the business from SBR ROCKR to ROCKR Indoor Training.
Will the KICKR or Neo smart bikes work on the ROCKR PRO?
Yes! For the best fit & performance check out our "Smart Plate" attachment.
Will my indoor bike trainer fit on the ROCKR PRO?
Yes, or at least we haven’t found one that hasn't fit. Our 12 attachment slot design allows for infinite trainer compatibility, no matter the trainer footprint.
Why do I see pictures with several different colors of Suspension Balls?
It is actually 100% random. We purchase our Suspension Balls in multi-color packs, and colors are chosen randomly during packaging.
Will I produce less power when riding my indoor trainer on a ROCKR PRO than without?
Not if you’re using correct cycling form. Riding a bike on a trainer that doesn’t move forces our body to coordinate movements much differently than it does outside. In fact, we find that ROCKR PRO users notice the same if not higher power output with more comfort and less soreness.
I heard that when riding a ROCKR the bike doesn’t move the same as it does outside?
Some ROCKR customers experience their bike moving in the opposite direction it does outside, meaning that their bike leans in the same direction of the leg that’s moving down. This is normally due to having too much pressure in the suspension balls, which causes a rebound effect when riding. With appropriate low pressure and the correct coordination input, you'll be riding and moving correctly - just like you do outside.
The floor of my Pain Cave isn’t perfectly flat, is that going to be a problem?
Not at all! The beauty of our Adjustable Suspension is that regardless of the floor & bottom board, the top board can be levelled by simply adjusting the air pressure in the Suspension Balls.
Will a ROCKR PRO fit in my Pain Cave and how much room do I need?
If your bike & trainer fit comfortably, then a ROCKR PRO will easily fit! Our ROCKR PRO measures 35.25” wide by 62.5” long, by 3.75” high. For reference this is only 5” wider than the footprint of a SARIS H2, and only 7” wider than the footprint of a Wahoo Fitness KICKR.

ROCKR DIY KIT
Why do you use 7” Suspension Balls?
The larger the volume of the ball the less PSI is needed to produce the same “firmness”. Our 7” Suspension Ball maximizes this volume, while still fitting well between our top & bottom boards
What board thickness do you recommend?
We recommend ⅝ - ¾” boards. Of course, rider weight, the type of wood and quality chosen play a huge role too. A cheaper quality ¾” board will not be as strong as a higher quality ⅝” board.
Will buying a DIY kit and sourcing the wood myself save me money?
Maybe, maybe not. We find that most of our DIY customers choose the DIY route because it’s fun, not necessarily because it saves them a ton of money.
Your Elastomeric Supports concave shaped. What’s with that?
Our concave or hourglass shaped Elastomeric Supports allow for far more free range movement than a traditional rubber isolator. A traditional rubber isolator is as thick at the center as it is at each end, and the thickness in the middle creates resistance as it is compressed. This resistance not only inhibits side to side movement, but with 5 of them in a row the for/aft movement is essentially non existent. Conversely, our concave Elastomeric Support allows for more free range movement by eliminating this resistance, and the top board can move more freely with less input. Even when 5 of our custom Elastomeric Supports are lined down the center, it still allows for 15mm of fore/aft movement.
How many Elastomeric Supports are needed in my DIY ROCKR?
We suggest using 3 elastomeric supports for half-size and 5 for full-size trainer platforms.
When building my DIY ROCKR top board, how big do I need the holes that show the Suspension Balls be, and how far are they from center?
The ROCKR PRO uses 2.5” diameter holes, but we have customers who’ve used 2” with great success. Each ROCKR PRO hole is approx. 10” from the centerline.
How long & wide does my DIY ROCKR board need to be, and does the shape matter?
Only as long & as wide as your bike & trainer. For DIYers Shape is normally chosen more from assuring you can cut the top & bottom board from the same piece of plywood!
